Organisation

International Bible Society as a global organisation has developed several levels of geographical governance. IBS Global Office headquartered in Colorado Springs (USA), is managing four Groups whereas Europe belongs to the Eurasia Group along with Eastern and Southeastern Asia. Europe is labeled as an "area", therefore we refer to the Europe office as an "area office". Area office has divided its European operations to "regions". Currently we have seven regions (see the map below). Each region can comprise of one or more countries, usually based on language similarities, which are serviced from "national or regional offices". Our geographical segmentation is used primarily for establishing legal framework to our operations in Europe. We however seldom lock our projects, programmes, processes or products to one single country or region. In recent years we have accepted a challenge to flatten our organisational structure and work more on a functional and project basis. Thus many projects invented by national offices are then transformed into "templates" by the area office and then implemented in other regions or countries. We take advantage of the information technologies and process & project management concepts to maximize the effect of our resources, products and overall potential.

New Bibles in 2007

In 2007 IBS Europe will be releasing two new first edition Bibles in Europe - Russian and Romanian. Following the elaborate development process and rigid methodology, we will be happy to offer high standard translations that use modern language while representing accuracy and faithfulness to the original texts. Both equipped with a wealth of footnotes, these translations are targeted to be used by new believers, for outreach and evangelism, especially among young people, as well as for general reading.
